The Health Department of Minnesota requires applicants to prove their identity by notarizing an application document. This process is very common and used by many states. Please note:
If you can provide documentation of legal interest, or if you are holding a Power of Attorney from the person on record, you are eligible to request the vital record for that person.
How long will birth certificate delivery take?
It will take about 4 to 6 business weeks to get your certificate. The state needs ample time to process the number of inquiries they receive. Delays may vary depending on the volume being processed.
