The state of Massachusetts charges $32 to process a death certificate application and provide your first copy. Any additional copy will cost $32. The rush service fee for Massachusetts is $42. The standard processing time of a death certificate in Massachusetts is 3-4 weeks and 7-10 business days for rush orders. In-person applications have the option of paying the fee in cash or by credit/debit card. Mail-in applications must be paid by check or money order addressed to “Commonwealth of Massachusetts”.
