The state of Minnesota charges $13 to process a death certificate application and provide your first copy. Any additional copy will cost $6. The rush service fee for Minnesota is $33. The standard processing time of a death certificate in Minnesota is 2-3 weeks and 5-10 business days for rush orders. In-person applications have the option of paying the fee in cash or by credit/debit card. Mail-in applications must be paid by check or money order addressed to “Minnesota Department of Health”.
