The state of Louisiana charges $7.5 to process a death certificate application and provide your first copy. Any additional copy will cost $7. The standard processing time of a death certificate in Louisiana is 8-10 weeks. In-person applications have the option of paying the fee in cash or by credit/debit card. Mail-in applications must be paid by check or money order addressed to “LOUISIANA VITAL RECORDS”.
